Marketing Coordinator
Position Summary
The Marketing Coordinator at our improv theater plays a pivotal role in promoting our performances, engaging with the community, and enhancing the theater's brand visibility. This individual will work closely with the Managing Director, Education Director, and Artistic Council to promote classes, festivals, shows, and initiatives at the theater. This role would be responsible for managing social media accounts, updating the website, sending out weekly emails, managing media partnerships and developing marketing campaigns for the theater.
Key Responsibilities
Email Marketing:

Develop and send weekly emails to promote upcoming shows, events, and classes.

Work with staff to develop email content, including compelling subject lines, copy, and visuals.

Manage adding new people to the email list and develop strategies to grow the email list.
Social Media:

Create, schedule, and publish captivating posts, stories, and updates on Facebook and Instagram.

Work with staff, show producers, and performers to share the content they create and help promote their shows and classes.

Capture, curate, and create content at our shows and around the theater to tell BIG’s story and promote our brand, talent, and space.

Engage with followers, respond to comments, and actively participate in relevant online conversations.
Website Updates:

Regularly update and maintain the theater's website with show information and other relevant content.

Ensure content on other outreach platforms are update date like Google places, social profiles, media calendars and listings, etc.
Marketing Campaigns:

Collaborate with staff to brainstorm, plan, and execute creative marketing campaigns to drive ticket sales, class sign ups, and community outreach.

Provide regular reports and insights to the marketing team, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
Collaboration and Coordination:

Manage a team of volunteers interested in marketing to implement campaigns and outreach efforts.

Identify potential partnerships and collaborations with local businesses, community groups, and influencers to expand the theater's reach.

Ensure consistent branding across all marketing materials and platforms, maintaining the theater's unique identity.
Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in marketing, preferably with nonprofits or the artistic organizations

Strong creative and written communication skills with an eye for visual design

Proficiency in social media platforms especially Facebook and Instagram

Proficiency in email marketing platforms and content management systems, preferably Mail Chimp and Wix
-
Strong aptitude for independent work and the ability to manage tasks and projects with minimal supervision

Detail-oriented with ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks

Enthusiasm for theater, performing arts, and improv is a plus
-
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for events and performances
