The Premise Pyramid
Tips and Tricks For How to Initiate and Receive Premise!
Service Description
Comedy is a relationship between two variables, reality (situation, relationship, tone) and absurdity (incongruent to that reality). In this class we will spend the entire time on stage practicing four simple ways to configure reality and absurdity in a way that simplifies premise initiations. We will evaluate placement and acting to give the performers confidence in their ability to package a premise that stimulates the shared experience. You’ll leave this workshop much better at initiating and receiving premise.
