Edgefest pushes improvisational theater to the edge: funny, heart wrenching, or audacious – expect to be surprised! A combination of improvised theater with other art forms: Edgefest brings you a series of six, remarkable, never to be repeated, performances.
These three special shows will feature the marvelous performers from the Baltimore Improv Group, as well as a variety of artists and improvisers from Baltimore and across the Northeast.
We begin with the Friday 8pm show which opens with Intimacyprov, a new creation from BIG member, Blue Cavell, and then we follow it with the Movement, a combination of BIG’s comic improvisers and the dancers of Baltimore’s own, the Collective.
We follow this up with a doubleheader on Saturday. Saturday at 7pm, you get a show combining BIG’s own Minority Re’port & poet Wenston Black (@thebackpackpoet) and then special guests from Philadelphia, Untitled#. Untitled# starts with an artist’s work that inspires the improvisers, then as the improvisers perform, the artist creates a new piece, that gets revealed at the end of the show. Finally Saturday at 9pm, a little something for your bodies. First, BIG’s show Skinesthesia which mixes improvisers, body painters and models. The models and painters create sets and props around the improvisers and even characters that get voiced by the folks of BIG. Edgefest concludes with a visit from 4Play, the sex positive comedy show, that gives you the best and funniest information about everyone’s favorite pastime.
Three great shows on two BIG nights! Treat yourself to a night of improvised art with Baltimore’s best.
